The Loan Officer I is responsible for soliciting, negotiating, underwriting and coordinating the closing of routine consumer, residential, equipment, commercial building and business loans in compliance with Southwest Montana Community FCU's lending policies and procedures; develops relationships with members; and promotes business for the Credit Union by maintaining good customer relations and referring members to appropriate staff for new services. The position of Loan Officer I assists in attaining established Credit Union goals through active participation in sales management and marketing of the Credit Union’s services and products. Courses and training may be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities and Expectations:

- Meets with members to gather information and advises on loan products.
-Evaluate loan applications and documentation
-Analyze financials, property evaluations, credit reports and other variables for loan approval.
-Maximize Credit Union profitability through the appropriate pricing of new loan originations, fee income and selling of bank products and services.
-Negotiate terms, structure loan financing based on risk considerations and present credits for approval to appropriate levels of authority as needed.
-Approve loans or recommend denial of loan and follow processes for each.
-Review agreements for accuracy.
-Promote additional insurance or other products to members.
-Conduct internal loan reviews.
-Perform month end tasks such as matured loan modifications and credit bureau reports.
-Work with a more senior level loan officer when handling and negotiating delinquencies.
-Work with members to resolve complaints and other issues.
-Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products and services, this includes answering basic member inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations and consumer privacy policies. Coordinate with other departments and refer members to departments/personnel providing specialized services as necessary.
-Maintain an up-to-date comprehensive knowledge and abide by all Credit Union related policies, procedures, rules and regulations, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Fair Lending, Know Your Member, robbery, safety and security procedures.
-Follow all credit union policies and procedures.
-Attends and participates in meetings as required.
-Completes required courses as assigned for ongoing compliance and continuing education.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities and Expectations:

-Greet and welcome members to the credit union in a courteous, professional and timely manner, providing prompt, accurate and efficient member transactions.
-Receive share drafts/checks and cash for deposit to accounts, verify amounts, examine share/draft checks for proper endorsement, and enter deposits into computer records.
-Assist with telephone, mail, or night deposit transactions as needed and record proper information according to credit union procedures.
-Cash share drafts/checks and process withdrawals; pay out money after verification of signatures and member balances.
-Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds.
-Receive consumer loan, home loan and other payments, ensure accuracy when posting to the computer. Generate member receipts.
-Buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary, ensuring that the teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded.
-Ensure teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, brochures, etc.
-Balance cash drawer daily, compare totaled amounts to system generated balance sheet. Research and resolve any discrepancies. Report any discrepancy to the supervisor as necessary.
-Provide inbound call support as needed
-Obtain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products and services, this includes answering basic member inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges and account histories while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations and consumer privacy policies. Coordinate with other departments and refer members to departments/personnel providing specialized services as necessary.
-Obtain an up-to-date comprehensive knowledge and abide by all Credit Union related policies, procedures, rules and regulations, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Fair Lending, Know Your Member, robbery, safety and security procedures.

Assist with managing Information Technology duties and maintaining the network infrastructure of the credit union. Manage and maintain credit union products and/or responsibilities overseen by the Information Technology Department.

-Provide technical support and consultation in the use and operations of computer operating systems.
-Evaluate technical requirements for any and all upgrades in hardware/software.
-Maintain databases and libraries including system security functions.
-Evaluate and procure new technology and computer supplies according to budgetary line items.
-Ensure all software licenses are maintained.
-Support the credit union’s local area and wide area network hardware and software to ensure back-end functions, systems, PCs, servers, and all peripheral products are operational.
-Research and diagnose IT problems within the entire infrastructure, troubleshoot, and provide solutions.
-Provide individual support to end users via the phone, in-person, or on-line to answer questions or resolve problems.
-Plan, organize and implement technical projects, including coordinating production releases, roll outs, delegating tasks, and presenting on projects’ progress and results.
-Maintain an up-to-date, comprehensive knowledge of all Credit Union related policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Fair Lending, Know Your Member, robbery, safety and security procedures.

Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the MSR ll, must be able to satisfactorily perform all the job duties of MSR l position; MSR ll position allows opportunity for further development within the department, deeper dive into account offerings, such as opening, maintaining and closing IRA accounts, trust accounts, business member services, further training in the account and card dispute process, filing fraud loss claims. In addition, performs a variety of records’ support duties including preparing and scanning Teller work, signature cards, loan documents, updated member related documents, contracts, invoices, internal forms and communications as appropriate. Courses and/or training may be required.

Open, maintain, and close specialty credit union accounts, including but not limited to: IRA accounts, Trust accounts, Business/Commercial accounts, Share Certificate of Deposits, safe deposit boxes, etc.

Gives prompt efficient and accurate service in the processing of all transactions including new and/or replacement ATM/VISA check/VISA credit cards, card limit increases, lifting travel blocks, resetting pins, Share Certificate and IRA accounts. Account reconciliation may include assisting members to dispute fraudulent activity.

Opens new member accounts and provide information to new and prospective members by explaining and cross-selling credit union products and services. Completes forms for opening and processing all types of accounts, including share, share draft, money market, certificate, IRAs, safe deposit boxes, etc.

Effective performance of scanning functions include but not limited to: prepare documents for scanning ensuring proper order and placement into appropriate electronic record, consistent titling of electronic images to ensure ease of accessibility, image quality.
